This is a ten-week internship (40 hours per week) during the summer of 2023 located in one of our Amazon Fulfillment Centers, Sorting Centers, Delivery Stations or other operational buildings within the Amazon distribution network. This is not an internship in a company in the office.

Wondering what distribution is all about? Fulfillment is how we refer to the fulfillment or dispatch of a customer’s Amazon.com order and the actions of preparing, packing, shipping and delivering that order in order to meet meet and exceed customer expectations! Our Operation workflow can be broken down into three main pathways: the first mile – where the product is housed and ready for your order; the second mile – where your order is transported to your region; and the last mile – when the product is delivered to your doorstep. Please note that each item varies slightly. However, our vision and dedication to the customer never changes.

Program Highlights and Location:
· This position is not an organizational or office role. This position is interactive, on the ground with your team and will be located in a fulfillment center, sorting center, delivery station or other building in the Amazon distribution network.
· Although this role is tied to a certain city, job placement opportunities are nationwide. This means that you will be placed in an operational building within the Amazon fulfillment network that best matches your location preferences and current location availability after your interview.

· Support all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.
· Ensure procedures are followed for building security and product loss prevention.
· Collaborate with the management team to establish and maintain quality control standards.
· Develop performance objectives and targets to meet customer demand and ensure accuracy and quality
· Work weekends, holidays and/or night shifts.
· Work overtime during high season and as needed.
· Stand and/or walk during shifts of up to 12 hours.
Access all areas of the building (depending on the operating building, this may include ascending and descending ladders, stairs, catwalks and shipping docks safely and without limitation
) inside and around the warehouse very frequently; many installations are over half a mile long
Bending and reaching often to reach and lift objects on the ground or in the air
Lifting and moving items up to 49 pounds

Key Job Responsibilities:
Learning to coach, manage, and develop a team of 50-200 Amazon associates

Work overtime both in peak season and as needed
Stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours
· Access all areas of building (Depending on the operations building, this may include ascending and descending ladders, stairs, gangways, and shipping docks safely and without limitation)
· Walk in/and around the warehouse with great frequency; many facilities are over a quarter mile in length
Regularly bend, lift, stretch, and reach both below the waist and above the head
Lift and move items up to 49 pounds

Basic Qualifications:
You must be currently enrolled in a baccalaureate with a graduation date between December 2023 and August 2024.

A Day in the Life
As an Area Manager intern, you will have the opportunity to learn how to coach and develop a team of Amazon associates in a distribution warehouse environment. Your main focus will be learning to motivate, mentor, and manage a team, as well as developing a summer project in partnership with your site leadership. As a people manager, you will ensure that the team of Amazon associates have all the tools needed to succeed for any task during a shift.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSBasic Qualifications : · Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree with a conferral date between December 2023 and
August 2024
