As an Sustainable Building Program Manager you will be responsible for developing strategy and executing programs that reduce carbon emissions and improve the sustainability of our facilities and emerging business operations.

This candidate will work with stakeholders throughout Amazon European’s Real Estate teams, including public policy teams, design and construction teams, procurement and new business teams to help design zero carbon facility solutions into new Amazon facilities. This role will focus on physical stores, corporate offices, and new fulfillment and warehouse operations to help Amazon. The role will focus on accelerating the deployment of sustainability broadly into our buildings through dematerialization and lower embedded carbon material strategies, electrification and energy efficiency, chemical reduction in facility materials, water management, and other sustainable design strategies. The candidate will partner with new and existing internal business teams to help accelerate action against Amazon’s sustainability goals by analyzing and driving execution opportunities. The candidate partner will also establish the public policy and advocacy agenda to drive sustainable building solutions at scale across EMEA. Responsibilities:
· Support the execution of a comprehensive carbon reduction strategy for Amazon’s buildings
· Evaluate the embodied carbon of Amazon building designs and implement strategies to reduce the material intensity of Amazon facilities
· Support new business teams with their progress against Amazon’s Climate Pledge as it relates to buildings
· Work with Public Policy stakeholders to advance the sustainable buildings agenda including facilitating high-level meetings with key policymakers, trade association executives
· Work with diverse stakeholders to coordinate, and implement strategies to reduce, monitor, optimize Amazon’s energy, water, and waste from building operations
· Assist in preparing written analysis of findings and recommendations for various building-related sustainability solutions
· Analyze and communicate the financial impact of projects and initiatives
· Manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously

Key job responsibilities

Manage multiple, complex projects simultaneouslyBASIC QUALIFICATIONS­ Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Environmental science, Business, or related field
5+ years of experience working in building industry, focused on energy and sustainability
Experience managing project timelines, contractor scopes, and project budgets
Experience with building systems and commercial/industrial construction practices
Experience using understanding of carbon reduction and sustainable building implementation strategies for energy, water, and waste
LEED Accredited Professional, PE, CEM or other building professional accreditationPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS­ Advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred
Ability to read and interpret building engineering drawings
5-7 years of demonstrated sustainable building project experience
Experience with current building regulations
Deep green building experience with demonstrated industry-leading sustainability design and construction
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
