Rotterdam Area

The head office of the Benelux organisation is situated in Breda. The production plants are located in the Rotterdam port area.

The Rotterdam refinery is one of the most modern and environmentally friendly of its kind. Since being put into operation in 1960, the plant has undergone several renovations. The sizeable capital investments through the years have made the refinery ultra-efficient.
Officially called the Rotterdam Plasticizers & Intermediates Plant, the Rotterdam Oxo-alcohols Plant actually comprises three production facilities: the Rotterdam Oxo-Alcohol Plant in Europoort, the Phthalic Anhydride Plant and the Rotterdam Plasticizer Plant, which are both located in Rotterdam Botlek. It is the largest producer of plasticizers in Europe.
The Pernis Lubricant Plant – or Lube Oil Blending Plant – produces various types of engine oil for cars and lubricants for industrial applications.

What role you will play in our team ?
 

An opportunity has become available for a dynamic and self-motivated Occupational Hygiene professional to join the ExxonMobil Medicine & Occupational Health Department, based at the Rotterdam Refinery. Our colleague will provide comprehensive Occupational Hygiene services to the Manufacturing Sites in the Netherlands.  

What you will do

This role would suit either an experienced Occupational Hygienist or someone within the early stages of a professional career in Occupational Hygiene.

Main activities of the role are:

Performs Occupational Hygiene activities as identified in the annual work plans, including but not limited to identification, assessment and control of site health risks
Develops annual Plans for the site or businesses (with Coordinator or Manager) 
Provides Professional Occupational Hygiene support / oversee programs and practices at assigned sites
Implements new improvement/enhancement initiatives as directed by the Coordinator/Manager
Provides OIMS ( = Operation Integrity Management System ) Health System support
Supports global common systems development, implementation and continuous improvement
Participates in the development and local implementation of Health hazard control programs
Participates in emerging issues analysis and resolution

 
About you
 

Skills and Qualification:    

Degree in a science related discipline such as chemistry, engineering or environmental science
Post academic Occupational Hygiene degree (preferred)
Demonstrated competency via professional certification or registration, or equivalent in areas where certification is not available
Fluent in Dutch and English (Verbal and writing)
Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills (verbally & in writing) with a hands-on and practical attitude
Well organized and able to manage multiple task simultaneously
Proactive, with an ability to anticipate, identify and resolve potential issues
Effective leadership skills, including influencing with no direct formal authority
Driver license B
Working experience within the (petro-)chemical industry will be an advantage
