Our rapidly growing Industrial Engineering team, which includes process, mechanical, electrical, controls, structural, architectural, geotechnical, and civil disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on EPC and design-build delivery of industrial projects in markets such as Food & Beverage, Mineral Processing, Renewable Fuels, Pulp and Paper, Steel & Aluminum, Industrial Buildings, and Industrial Energy, Water and Utilities.

Responsibilities
The VP – F&B Engineering will help grow Kiewit’s market share by winning clients and projects in partnership with Business Development leaders, developing the process team and their capabilities, and developing and executing innovative solutions to clients’ technical needs on an ongoing basis through the process team this role manages. As the business grows, so will the responsibilities and complexities of leading a larger team, building organizational capability, and ensuring ongoing project execution success — which may ultimately lead to increased overall business responsibilities and participation in the business as an owner through outstanding performance.

Specifically, the VP – F&B Engineering will:

•    Develop the vision for engineering success for the F&B market and own the outcomes of this overall engineering strategy.  This includes providing technical and engineering leadership for process design including process evaluation, process selection, and process optimization.

•    Coordinate teams and resources to support process design for multiple projects simultaneously.

•    Oversee in the preparation of key engineering reports, engineering drawings and specifications for projects such as basis of design, PFD’s, P&ID’s, mass and energy balances, process simulations, datasheets, and engineering calculations.

•    Provide process expertise leadership during project pursuit and execution to identify and eliminate technical risks.  This may include conducting cold eyes reviews of project process design documents to identify gaps or issues.

•    Working collaboratively with the Project Development group and the Industrial Engineering team, contribute to the development of client proposals, execution plans, and project cost estimates within the F&B market.

•    Actively participate in professional organizations. Prepare and make presentations to clients and professional organizations.

•    Identify and lead the development of market-specific engineering standards, resources and tools to improve design production and efficiency.

•    Mentor Kiewit’s entry and mid-level engineers for skill development.  Review their progress and results.  Provide direction and coaching, as needed.

•    When escalated, provide front line issue resolution of technical issues associated with design, construction, equipment and/or operations.
Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agricultural, Biosystems or Mechanical Engineering

•    Minimum of 15+ years of experience process development, conceptual and detailed design of food and beverage facilities.  Experience emphasis in focus submarkets identified above is preferred.

•    Professional Engineer (PE) registration is preferred.
