Position Overview
Your opportunity to join a rapidly growing environmental and regulatory team embedded in Kiewit’s Engineering Group. As an Environmental Engineer you will support regulatory and noise consulting work across our OGC and Industrial Markets. In addition to supporting technical work scopes on projects you will support the development of internal procedures driving Kiewit’s efforts to be a full-service solution for our clients. Your work will be highly varied with a focus on delivering noise consulting work and other regulatory tasks depending on job awards. The successful candidate will support projects across North America in a variety of industries including renewables, chemicals, and LNG.  

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a proficiency for learning quickly, adapting to changing priorities and managing multiple work scopes concurrently.

Location
This position is based out of our Energy Corridor Office in Houston, TX and typically requires less than 25 percent travel. Opportunities for flexible work are available. 
Responsibilities
•    Organize and overseeing environmental noise surveys of project sites

•    Perform noise modeling with Sound Plan, CadnaA to predict mechanical noise levels and develop recommendations for appropriate noise control 

•    Prepare technical reports and communicate with lead environmental engineer/client

•    Support other environmental and/or regulatory work scopes which may include: Reviewing permits and authorizations to extract engineering design requirements for facilities, FERC Resource Report development, FERC Implementation Package development, PHMSA Regulatory Submittal development, Writing SWPPP and SPCC plans, Drafting client deliverables and reports to summarize project findings, Manage and Coordinate with 3rd party support (including procurement activities), Draft environmental permitting applications, Phase 1 ESA execution, and Developing air emission inventories for facilities and construction projects.

•    25% travel anticipated to support field operations
Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Physics or an equivalent discipline required

•    Ability to review and understand engineering drawings and specifications including architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.

•    Understanding of acoustical standards and predicting exterior noise intrusion

•    Interest in supporting multi-faceted environmental and regulatory work scopes 

•    Understanding of Acoustics/Vibrations of equipment and the effects of multiple inputs on the end users

•    Preferred: 1-3 years of experience with any of the following: Noise monitoring/modeling, NEPA, CEQA, CWA, CAA, RCRA, ESA, CZMA, NHPA, FERC

•    Effective time management to meet deadlines on multiple projects.
