The Grants & Donations Accountant is responsible for the financial management and reporting of all incoming revenue streams, including private donations, foundation grants, and government contracts. This role ensures that all funds are tracked, spent, and reported in strict accordance with donor intentions, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and regulatory requirements.

salary: $70,000 - $75,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Record and reconcile all contributions, including cash, pledges, and Gifts-in-Kind (GIK).
  • Reconcile the Finance Department?s records with the Development (Fundraising) Department?s database, Raiser?s Edge, on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Monitor grant expenditures to ensure they are allowable, allocable, and reasonable under the specific terms of the grant agreement.
  • Maintain and analyze general ledger activity and ensure proper transaction flow.
  • Document and maintain process narratives for all areas of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper documentation and classification of financial transactions.
  • Assist Senior Accounting Manager, Director of Accounting, Controller and or CFO, as required.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
