Manufacturing company with locations nationwide is targeting an Area Manager for their plant in the Columbia SC area. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of Operations/Production leadership experience in heavy industry, preferably steel or metals manufacturing.

responsibilities:

• Oversee daily production schedules to meet or exceed targets.
  
  
• Manage a team of hourly personnel and frontline supervisors.
  
  
• Drive Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma initiatives to reduce scrap and improve yield.
  
  
• Manage the operational budget and collaborate with Engineering on projects to upgrade technology or expand capacity.
  
  
• Lead safety audits, incident investigations, and the implementation of LOTO and confined space protocols.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in heavy manufacturing, preferably steel or metals industry.
  
  
• Leadership experience over both hourly and salaried employees.
