Key Responsibilities
- Fleet Maintenance: Diagnose and repair high-torque diesel engines (Mack, Cummins, Detroit), air brake systems, and drivetrains. Ensure our 60,000lb+ GVW mixers are safe and road-worthy.
- Hydraulic & Mixer Systems: Maintain and troubleshoot the high-pressure pumps, motors, and gearboxes that drive drum rotation. Perform essential repairs on drum rollers, bearings, and chutes.
- Support Equipment: Service batch plant machinery, including front-end loaders, skid steers, and pneumatic systems used for bulk cement transport.
- Welding & Fabrication: Perform minor welding and metalwork to repair chutes and hoppers worn down by abrasive aggregate.
- Compliance & Safety: Execute rigorous preventative maintenance schedules (PMs) and conduct DOT inspections to ensure full FMCSA compliance.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably within the concrete, construction, or waste industries.
- Technical Skills: proficient in hydraulic troubleshooting and electrical diagnostics.
- Physical Ability: Must be comfortable working in a dusty, outdoor environment and able to handle the physical demands of heavy equipment repair.
- Licensing: Valid driver?s license required (CDL Class A or B is a major plus).

Responsibilities
Fleet & Mixer Maintenance
- Heavy-Duty Trucks: Diagnosing and repairing high-torque diesel engines (Mack, Cummins, Detroit), transmissions, and air brake systems for 60,000lb+ GVW mixer trucks.
- Hydraulic Systems: Maintaining the high-pressure pumps and motors that drive drum rotation to prevent concrete from hardening during transport.
- Mechanical Components: Servicing drum rollers, bearings, and chutes, including welding/fabrication for components worn by abrasive aggregate.
2. Specialized Concrete Equipment
- Boom & Line Pumps: Maintaining hydraulic outriggers and piston-driven pumping systems for "pumper" trucks.
- Heavy Equipment: Servicing front-end loaders and skid steers used to move sand and stone at the batch plant.
- Plant Maintenance: Repairing pneumatic systems and conveyors that move bulk cement and aggregate into silos.
3. Compliance & Field Service
- Preventative Maintenance: Execution of grease schedules and oil changes to combat the corrosive and dusty environment of a concrete yard.
- Inspections: Performing DOT and annual safety inspections to ensure FMCSA compliance.
- Emergency Field Repair: Responding to job-site breakdowns to troubleshoot air or hydraulic failures under strict time constraints.
