Randstad is looking for a director of manufacturing for new manufacturing company on the Jacksonville's Southside. You will need the to have 5 plus years of manufacturing and management experience. A proven history of setting up production lines with CNC would be a bonus.  A Director of Manufacturing develops manufacturing strategies, oversees daily plant operations, drives efficiency, quality, and safety, manages teams, implements lean principles (like Six Sigma/ERP), ensures regulatory compliance (ISO 9001), and collaborates cross-functionally, requiring leadership and process optimization skills. Key duties involve resource allocation, performance metrics, budgeting, continuous improvement, and managing production to meet goals while fostering a safety/quality culture.

salary: $100,000 - $125,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute manufacturing strategies, planning production schedules, and allocating resources.
  • Operations Oversight: Manage daily plant operations, monitor processes, and implement quality control measures.
  • Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Oversee CNC machining operations, including milling, turning, and specialty processes used in billiards components.
  • Provide hands-on expertise in CNC programming, setup, and optimization.
  • Troubleshoot complex machining, tooling, fixturing, and process issues to minimize downtime and scrap.
  • Drive process improvements for accuracy, repeatability, surface finish, and cycle time reduction.
  • Shop Setup & Scale-Up Lead the setup or expansion of a manufacturing shop, including layout design, equipment selection, tooling, and workflow.
  • Establish maintenance programs, tooling management systems, and safety.
  • Build scalable processes to support future growth and new product lines.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop manufacturing teams, with a minimum of 5 years of people management experience.
  • Manage and grow teams of machinists, technicians, and supervisors; conduct hiring, training, and performance reviews.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and safety.
  • Partner with HR and leadership to build strong succession plans and skills development pathways.
