Well established, very reputable and growing company located in the Roswell, GA area is looking for a Director of Safety.
This role comes with a very lucrative compensation plan (commensurate with experience) with a base salary ranging from $240k to $265k plus 40% annual target bonus.

responsibilities:
- The Director of Safety will be both a strategic resource and a hands-on leader, driving the company's safety performance to the world class levels. The successfuf candidate will work closely with business and functional leaders throughout the company to drive safety and implement a culture of continuous improvement.
- Establish, optimize and/or mobilize available resources needed to achieve its goals through establishing metrics, developing programs, initiatives and projects aligned with business goals.
- Lead efforts to develop and/or maintain the over safety program for operations, including standards, policies, SOP's and guidance documents.
- Provide leadership and support in the understanding and implementation of various components of safety, training and compliance programs.
- Work closely with the operating leadership, at the regioinal and divisional levels, to drive improved safety results.
- Closely collaborate with legal and risk management departments; support loss control and claim improvement initiatives; ensure findings or recommendations based on claim reviews are incorporated into enhanced policies, procedures or training programs.
- Serve as an internal leader and subject matter expert on compliance with all regulatory authorities, including but not limited to to ADA, DOT, OSHA and EPA; monitor emerging trends, programs, and issues; communicate with and educate key internal leaders on relevant topics.
Qualifications:
- BA or BS from accredited university desired
- Transportation industry certifications are a plus
- CSM certification not required but preferred
- 15 years of progressively responsible experience in a safety leadership or operations management role
- Experience with project management, process improvement, Lean tools and concepts
- Experience working successfully with cross-functional and decentralized teams in driving change and processing improvements
- Teaching/training experience, knowledge of local, state and federal safety regulation, risk management worker's compensation and OSHA
