Responsibilities

• Claim Follow-up: Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding claims with insurance carriers via web portals or phone.
  
  
• Denial Management: Review and appeal denied or underpaid claims. Research coding requirements and medical necessity guidelines to submit effective appeals.
  
  
• Specialized Collections: Manage complex billing scenarios specific to orthopaedics, including Workers? Compensation, and major surgical global billing periods.
  
  
• Payment Posting & Reconciliation: Ensure that payments and adjustments are accurately posted to patient accounts and that credits are resolved.
  
  
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all collection activities and communications within the Practice Management (PM) system (likely Epic, Centricity, or similar).
  
  
• Collaboration: Work with the Pre-Authorization and Coding teams to correct errors in patient demographics, insurance information, or ICD-10/CPT codes.
