We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician III to join our advanced manufacturing team. This is an expert-level role responsible for ensuring the optimal functionality of complex industrial machinery through high-level diagnostics, automation troubleshooting, and engineering collaboration. The ideal candidate is a "fixer" who can operate independently to resolve technical bottlenecks and maintain production continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Automation & PLC Leadership: Read, edit, monitor, and modify PLC ladder logic to optimize machine performance and minimize downtime.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems (up to 480v) using schematics and technical manuals.
- Strategic Maintenance: Execute scheduled PMs and visually test assigned equipment to detect malfunctions before failure occurs.
- Mechanical Installation: Lay out, assemble, and install pipe systems, gauges, valves, and pressure regulators; perform full machine installations and moves.
- Technical Mentorship: Assist Level I and II technicians in diagnosing malfunctions and serve as a technical lead for maintenance projects.
- System Management: Utilize MRP systems to enter work order data, track project activities, and requisition parts as needed.
- Safety Excellence: Adhere to all required safety protocols, properly wear PPE, and maintain a hazard-free workstation in accordance with company standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 5+ years of advanced experience in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep proficiency in hydraulic/pneumatic systems, 480v electrical power, and PLC ladder logic.
- Critical Thinking: Problem-solving skills with the ability to discuss variations with supervisors to diagnose complex mechanical issues.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to handle physical demands, including standing, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; technical certifications or vocational training preferred.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties
- Diagnostic & Technical Repair: Troubleshoots and repairs complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems using schematics. Perform machine installations, moves, and building maintenance as required.
- Automation & Controls: Responsible for reading, editing, monitoring, and modifying PLC ladder logic to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Preventative Maintenance: Executes scheduled PMs, visually inspecting and testing machinery to detect malfunctions before failure. Assists Level I and II technicians with advanced diagnostics.
- System Maintenance: Lays out, assembles, and installs pipe systems. Maintains and replaces gauges, valves, and pressure regulators.
- Operational Support: Manages equipment work orders daily, ensuring all data is entered accurately into the MRP system for tracking. Coordinates and tracks project list activities.
- Procurement: Requisitions necessary parts and components to minimize downtime.
- Safety & Compliance: Adheres to all plant safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE and maintaining a clean, hazard-free workstation.
- Flexibility: Remains available for assigned shifts, mandatory overtime, and after-hours meetings to support 24/7 production needs
