We are seeking a seasoned Plant Manager to oversee our South Nashville steel processing facility. This role demands a leader who understands the complexities of heavy-gauge manufacturing?from melt shop operations and rolling mills to precision fabrication. You will lead a high-output environment where "Safety-as-a-Value" is the bedrock of every shift.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production & Metallurgy: Oversee daily operations of electric arc furnaces (EAF), casting, and rolling operations, ensuring metallurgical integrity and meeting ASTM standards.

  • Safety Leadership: Implement rigorous safety protocols for high-heat environments, overhead crane operations, and heavy machinery lockout/tagout (LOTO).

  • Maintenance & Reliability: Manage the lifecycle of heavy assets; implement Predictive Maintenance (PdM) to minimize unscheduled downtime on critical lines.

  • Supply Chain & Logistics: Coordinate with rail and barge logistics (Cumberland River access) and local trucking to manage scrap intake and finished product outbound.

  • Financial Stewardship: Manage the P&L with a focus on yield optimization and energy consumption reduction?critical in the 2026 energy market.



salary: $120,000 - $130,000 per year

Responsibilities

Position Requirements:

  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office and general computer knowledge.
  • Must be knowledgeable in all MIOSHA and Labor Laws.
  • Must be certified internal auditor within 12 months of hire.
  • Must be able to manage others and delegate with good communication skills.
  • Pays great attention to detail.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure and know decimal to inch conversion.
  • Must have experience in understanding steel defects.
  • Must have experience with heavy machinery.
  • Must have working knowledge of building systems and maintenance.


Job Duties Include, but not limited to:

  • Oversee all plant operations and evaluate production numbers.
  • Environmental Management Representative, responsible for compliance to ISO14001 Standard.
  • Create and hold meetings to go over production, toolbox safety, etc.
  • Approve payroll for plant employees.
  • Cross train employees to ensure plant is running effectively and efficiently and all positions can be covered if needed.
  • Verify pricing for required orders.
  • Reviewing customer specifications if needed and contacting correct personnel to fix any discrepancies.
  • Create reports for cost savings efforts and report.
  • Review and report production costs.
