Our client seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Project Accountant to join our team in Charlotte, NC. You will be responsible for the financial lifecycle of various projects, from initial setup and budgeting to final close-out. You will serve as the financial bridge between our project managers and the corporate accounting department, ensuring that all projects remain profitable, compliant, and accurately reported.
salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year

Responsibilities
- Project Lifecycle Management: Set up new projects in the accounting system, ensuring proper contract terms, billing rates, and budget structures are established.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly project profitability reports, identifying variances between actual costs and budgeted amounts.
- Billing & Revenue: Generate accurate and timely client invoices; monitor accounts receivable and assist with collection efforts for assigned projects.
- Cost Tracking: Review and code project-related expenses, including labor, sub-consultant invoices, and direct costs.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure all project documentation complies with company policies, local North Carolina regulations, and GAAP standards.
- Collaboration: Conduct monthly project review meetings with Project Managers (PMs) to discuss budget status, WIP (Work in Progress), and potential overruns.
