About the Opportunity
We are a leading global distributor of specialty materials and chemicals, serving as the critical link between large-scale manufacturers and diverse end-market consumers. Our local Boca Raton hub is a collaborative, high-energy environment of roughly 25 professionals across Sales, Laboratory/Regulatory, and Supply Chain.
We are seeking a resilient, local Purchasing Supervisor to lead our Performance Materials division. This is a "player-coach" role for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment where advocacy for your team and "getting the job done" are top priorities.
The Role
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of 6 Buyers (4 local, 2 remote).
- Inventory Management: Take full ownership of corporate inventory reporting, maintaining optimal levels (30?90 days).
- Operational Excellence: Manage the end-to-end supply chain process, including bulk purchasing, lead-time coordination, and resolving issues related to material damages.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison between the purchasing department and the Sales, Accounting, and Regulatory/Lab teams to ensure product approvals and availability.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $90,000 ? $95,000 per year.
- Work Structure: Hybrid (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in-office).
- Onboarding: To ensure full integration into our culture, the first 30 days will be 100% in-office.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years of professional purchasing experience.
- Leadership: Proven experience in a supervisory or management role (managing direct reports is required).
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in wholesale distribution, import/export, or chemical supply chain is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Exentensive proficiency in inventory reporting and supply chain software.
- Location: Candidates must be local to the Boca Raton, FL area.
