Tooling Technician ? Plastic Injection Mold Repair & Maintenance (Maintain, repair, and return-to-operation injection molds in a fast-paced production environment.)

Location: Hanover Park, IL Shift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM ? 3:30 PM | Monday?Friday Pay: $27?$35/hr DOE

Role Summary: Randstad USA is hiring Tooling Technicians for a direct hire opportunity in Hanover Park, IL. This role focuses on repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting injection molds used in high-volume plastic production. Perfect for a hands-on tooling expert with mold shop equipment experience and strong mechanical skills.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of experience repairing plastic injection molds
  • Skilled in using manual mold shop equipment and tools
  • strong troubleshooting and mechanical abilities
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Must work well within a team and communicate effectively
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred  
Compensation & Benefits:

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair of plastic injection molds
  • Use manual machines and tooling equipment to perform corrective actions
  • Diagnose tooling issues, test molds, and track root causes
  • Maintain and track mold/component inventory levels and status
  • Store validated and non-validated tooling components appropriately
  • Document mold issues, repair solutions, and PM history to reduce downtime
  • Escalate recurring tooling failures through the proper channels
  • Follow all SOPs, safety standards, and quality procedures
  • Keep mold shop and machines clean and organized
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure tooling readiness
  • Other duties as assigned


The essential functions of this role include:wearing steel toe shoesmanual lifting up to 50lbsstanding for 10 hours at one timeworking up to 5 hrs of overtime per week
