Our client in Novi, MI is seeking an Applications Engineer. This role centers on acting as a key technical subject matter expert to ensure customer success, which involves analyzing application feasibility, leading training and demonstrations, diagnosing and correcting complex technical issues, supporting product development for sales, and maintaining expertise through up to 50% required travel and continuous training in Italy.

Required:

AA degree or equivalent work experience, along with a minimum of 3 years of 5 axis laser/welding experience. CAD/CAM, understanding part drawings!

responsibilities:

• Technical Subject Matter Expert: Establish and maintain expertise in the field, analyzing customer drawings to determine application feasibility using the company's product offerings.
  
  
• Customer Engagement & Support: Lead or assist in conducting machine/software training, demonstrations, and technical presentations at the Solution Center, customer facilities, and trade shows.
  
  
• Troubleshooting & Testing: Accurately diagnose and correct both machine-related and application-based issues. Travel up to 50% as required to perform run-off acceptance tests at customer sites.
  
  
• Product Development & Sales Enablement: Assist in the development of sales tools for new features and machines, develop demonstration parts/strategies for 5-axis products, and cooperate with external companies on 5-Axis fixture design.
  
  
• Internal Collaboration: Provide advanced technical expertise and support to other Applications Engineers, Product Managers, and Sales team members, assisting with project specifications and completion.
  
  
• Professional Development & Commitment: Maintain positive customer relationships, travel to the international headquarters (Italy) 1-2 times per year for continuous training.
