Randstad is seeking a detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our production team. You will be responsible for the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC mills and lathes to produce high-precision components. All shifts available. Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Setup & Operation: Preparing CNC mills, lathes, or "Swiss-type" machines. This includes installing cutting tools, loading raw materials, and dialing in machine offsets.

  • Blueprint Interpretation: Reading complex 2D and 3D engineering drawings that use GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to ensure parts meet exact specifications.

  • Programming & Editing: While engineers often write the initial code, machinists are expected to "prove out" programs and make real-time G-code edits at the machine controller to correct errors.

  • Quality Inspection: Using precision tools like micrometers, calipers, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) to verify that parts are accurate within tolerances as tight as $\pm 0.0001$ inches.

  • Maintenance: Performing "Level 1" maintenance, such as checking coolant levels, lubricating ways, and clearing chips to prevent machine downtime.
