We are a well-established pharmaceutical manufacturing company located in Farmingdale, NY, seeking a skilled and reliable Electric Mechanic to join our maintenance team. As a key member of our production facility, you will play a vital role in ensuring our manufacturing and packaging equipment runs at peak performance.

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a pharmaceutical, food, or cosmetic manufacturing environment.

  • Electrical Knowledge: Understanding of 3-phase power (480V), control circuits (24V/120V), and industrial wiring.

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Proficiency with gearboxes, conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and bearings.

  • Tools: Must be proficient with multimeters, amp clamps, and standard hand/power tools.

  • Communication: Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to production staff and management.

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Trade school certification or Associate?s degree in Electrical Technology is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform root-cause analysis to identify and resolve electrical and mechanical malfunctions on manufacturing equipment (e.g., tablet presses, encapsulators, blenders, packaging lines).

  • Install, maintain, and service industrial electrical systems, including motors, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), servos, sensors, relays, and PLCs.

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to facilitate repairs.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols (LOTO), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines.

  • Assist with general facility maintenance and utility systems as needed.
