responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed design of medium and low voltage distribution systems for industrial and utility power projects.

  • Develop essential electrical documentation including one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and interconnect drawings.

  • Execute power system studies using industry software such as ETAP or SKM, focusing on load flow, short circuit analysis, coordination studies, and arc flash assessments.

  • Write technical specifications for the procurement of major equipment including switchgear, transformers, generators, and battery storage systems.

  • Coordinate closely with mechanical, structural, and controls departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated plant design.

  • Review contractor submittals and shop drawings to maintain design integrity during the construction phase.

  • Provide on-site technical support during construction and lead the commissioning and startup of electrical systems.

  • Ensure all designs comply with the National Electric Code, IEEE standards, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering REQUIRED

  • 3+ years of experience as an electrical engieer focusing on power generation.

  • E.I.T certification is a plus but is not required

  • Experience in the design of power generation or heavy industrial facilities.

  • Proficiency in power system modeling software such as ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Understanding of the National Electric Code and standard industry engineering practices.

  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed to support construction and commissioning activities around 10-15%.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-discipline engineering environment.
