Direct Hire Opportunity! We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician (EMT) with a strong background in food manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing both electrical and mechanical systems in a food production environment. This role is critical in ensuring plant equipment runs efficiently, safely, and in compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational certification or associate degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of EMT experience in a food manufacturing environment a plus.
- Understanding of food safety practices (GMP, HACCP, SQF, etc.).
- Proven ability to work with 3-phase systems, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, and mechanical assemblies.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under pressure.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with CMMS platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA safety training or certification
- Familiarity with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs
- bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Lean Manufacturing or TPM experience

Responsibilities
- Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Install and maintain motors, sensors, drives, conveyors, gearboxes, and automated equipment.
- Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, PLC interfaces, and motor testers.
- Follow GMP, HACCP, and other food safety protocols during all maintenance work.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities using CMMS (e.g., UpKeep, SAP, or other platforms).
- Assist in equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns promptly and support production needs.
- Support cross-functional teams in maintaining high standards of equipment reliability and plant performance.
- Participate in safety meetings, training, and audits.
