Direct Hire Opportunity!   We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician (EMT) with a strong background in food manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing both electrical and mechanical systems in a food production environment. This role is critical in ensuring plant equipment runs efficiently, safely, and in compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational certification or associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of EMT experience in a food manufacturing environment a plus.
  • Understanding of food safety practices (GMP, HACCP, SQF, etc.).
  • Proven ability to work with 3-phase systems, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under pressure.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with CMMS platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA safety training or certification
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs
  • bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
  • Lean Manufacturing or TPM experience


salary: $60,320 - $79,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Install and maintain motors, sensors, drives, conveyors, gearboxes, and automated equipment.
  • Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, PLC interfaces, and motor testers.
  • Follow GMP, HACCP, and other food safety protocols during all maintenance work.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities using CMMS (e.g., UpKeep, SAP, or other platforms).
  • Assist in equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns promptly and support production needs.
  • Support cross-functional teams in maintaining high standards of equipment reliability and plant performance.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training, and audits.
