Our client is a premier leader in custom manufacturing looking for a high-energy Engineering Manager to lead their team! This role is for a resilient leader who thrives in a fast-paced, "high-heat" environment and is ready to tackle the unique challenges of custom production. Candidates must have at least 3 years of engineering management experience and a minimum of 6 years in engineering, specifically focused on sheet metal fabrication or machining. Hands-on experience maintaining ISO 9001 quality systems is required.

responsibilities:

Lead, train, and develop engineers and drafters, ensuring they have the technical skills to handle increasingly complex custom builds.
Prioritize engineering projects to ensure they hit production deadlines and meet departmental budgets.
Monitor and report on engineering performance, including project timelines, quality metrics, and cost savings.
Lead the management of drawings, revision control, and the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process.
Oversee the transition of new products from design to full-scale production.
Review and approve all engineering designs, specifications, and process documentation to ensure compliance with industry codes and customer specs.
Work closely with the shop floor to optimize designs for efficiency, reducing scrap and labor costs.
Maintain and control engineering procedures, work instructions, and records to ensure "audit-ready" status at all times.
Drive manufacturing support and ensure the on-time delivery of all engineering-led projects.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial).
Minimum of 3 years in an engineering manager or leadership role.
Minimum of 6 years in metal fabrication or related machining manufacturing.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and continuous improvement.
Proven experience with ISO compliance and managing audit performance.
Hands-on experience working within an ISO 9001 environment.
Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks and AutoCAD).
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
