Our client is a premier leader in custom manufacturing looking for a high-energy Engineering Manager to lead their team! Candidates must have at least 3 years of engineering management experience and a minimum of 6 years in engineering, specifically focused on sheet metal fabrication or machining. Hands-on experience maintaining ISO 9001 quality systems is required.

responsibilities:
  • Lead, train, and develop engineers and drafters, ensuring they have the technical skills to handle increasingly complex custom builds.

  • Prioritize engineering projects to ensure they hit production deadlines and meet departmental budgets.

  • Monitor and report on engineering performance, including project timelines, quality metrics, and cost savings.

  • Lead the management of drawings, revision control, and the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process.

  • Oversee the transition of new products from design to full-scale production.

  • Review and approve all engineering designs, specifications, and process documentation to ensure compliance with industry codes and customer specs.

  • Work closely with the shop floor to optimize designs for efficiency, reducing scrap and labor costs.

  • Maintain and control engineering procedures, work instructions, and records to ensure "audit-ready" status at all times.

  • Drive manufacturing support and ensure the on-time delivery of all engineering-led projects.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial).

  • Minimum of 3 years in an engineering manager or leadership role.

  • Minimum of 6 years in metal fabrication or related machining manufacturing.

  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and continuous improvement.

  • Proven experience with ISO compliance and managing audit performance.

  • Hands-on experience working within an ISO 9001 environment.

  • Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks and AutoCAD).

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
