Our client is seeking a Heat Pump Engineer to add to their growing team. This role involves designing and providing technical solutions for water and geothermal heat pump systems, leading product development and testing, and driving continuous process improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a related field) with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in heat pump or HVAC engineering. Key technical requirements: knowledge of heat pump technologies, proficiency in CAD software for design and modeling, and a deep understanding of energy efficiency standards.
Highly desirable: PE license, HVAC certifications (e.g., NATE, ASHRAE), and familiarity with renewable energy integration.
The position requires a willingness to travel locally for site visits.

responsibilities:
- Develop and provide technical solutions for water source and geothermal heat pump designs (0.5 to 60 tons).
- Lead complex engineering assignments, ensuring designs comply with safety standards and building codes.
- Create and execute test plans for unit performance, rating, and long-term reliability.
- Manage technical aspects of product development, including Bill of Materials (BOM), modeling, and final assembly.
- Drive continuous improvement by leading cost reduction initiatives and performing root cause analysis.
- Collaborate cross-functionally on material and component selection/qualification.
- Assist in developing and maintaining departmental standards and operating procedures.
