Maintenance Mechanic | Line Changeovers & Equipment Troubleshooting (Support daily production through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and changeovers on automated packaging lines.)

Role Summary:
Randstad USA is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join a growing consumer packaged goods manufacturer in Bridgeview, IL. This is a direct hire opportunity with full benefits and long-term growth potential. The Maintenance Mechanic will perform mechanical and electrical maintenance, changeovers, troubleshooting, and equipment setup on high-speed packaging lines.
_ Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance
- strong knowledge of AC electrical systems (up to 480 volts), PLCs, motors, and drives
- Experience with automated filling and packaging machinery preferred
- Proficient in mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting
- Must provide own tools
- High school diploma or GED required
- Forklift certification a plus
- strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to interpret schematics, diagrams, and perform detailed maintenance tasks independently
- bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required
Physical & Work Environment:
- Must be able to lift/move 50+ lbs regularly
- Work in hot or cold environments depending on facility needs
- Extended standing, kneeling, and use of hand tools
- Hearing, eye, and hand protection required on the floor
- No Sunday shifts

Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, breakdown response, and equipment installations
- Troubleshoot electrical (up to 480V), pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
- Execute efficient line changeovers prior to shift starts to ensure readiness for production
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and geometric drawings
- Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication as needed for repairs and installations
- Identify and correct unsafe work conditions following LOTO and PPE standards
- Assist with facility maintenance and contribute to a clean, safe, and team-oriented environment
- Complete job tasks independently and document work completed
- Flexible to work 10?12 hour shifts, including Saturdays for PMs and emergency repairs
