Employment Information

Our client is seeking a Sales Engineer who will be responsible for driving sales and providing technical solutions the client's machinery in the Illinois/Eastern Iowa territory, which requires extensive weekly travel for customer visits and detailed sales activity.

Required to have a Bachelor's degree or 5+ years sales/technical experience in the machine tool industry.

Travel: 60%

+Commission and Car allowance!

responsibilities:
  • Drive Territory Sales and Growth: Strategically locate, qualify, and target manufacturers/fabricators in the Illinois and Eastern Iowa territory to promote and sell client products.

  • Provide Technical Solutions: Understand customer manufacturing processes and production needs to develop and present value-driven solutions using client technology, in collaboration with applications engineers.

  • Manage Customer Relationships: Conduct 6 to 8 in-person customer visits per week to perform sales calls and assess customer needs, requiring frequent travel (up to 60% total, with a minimum of 3 nights away per week).

  • Coordinate Sales Process: Complete all documentation to arrange and schedule technical demonstrations, time cycle studies, and cutting trials as required.

  • Maintain Sales Records: Accurately update customer visit notes, opportunity details, and regional activities weekly in the CRM system.

  • Stay Informed: Continuously learn product specifications and industry trends through training, trade shows, and personal networking.
