Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant with deep expertise in the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) sector. The ideal candidate will manage the full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties (Office, Retail, or Industrial). You will be the primary point of contact for financial reporting, ensuring all property-level data is accurately captured and analyzed within Yardi Voyager.  This role is located in Charlotte, and you must reside in the metro to be considered for this opportunity as this is 100% on site.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Property Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Perform full-cycle accounting for a designated portfolio of commercial assets.
  
  
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement packages, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analysis.
  
  
• Maintain the general ledger and perform bank reconciliations.
  
  
• Manage fixed asset depreciation and amortization schedules.
  
  

2. Commercial Lease Administration & Yardi Oversight

• Review and abstract commercial leases to ensure accurate billing of base rent, Opex, and CAM charges within Yardi.
  
  
• Execute Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations and real estate tax true-ups.
  
  
• Monitor tenant accounts receivable and oversee the application of cash receipts.
  
  
• Process accounts payable, ensuring proper coding to the chart of accounts and timely vendor payments.
  
  

3. Budgeting & Analytical Support

• Collaborate with Property Managers to develop annual operating budgets and periodic forecasts.
  
  
• Perform variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget) and provide detailed explanations for fluctuations in property performance.
  
  
• Assist in the preparation of materials for audits, tax filings, and lender reporting requirements.
