Randstad is partnering with a dynamic organization in Irvine, CA, to identify a high-caliber Senior Accountant for a key on-site position. Our client operates in a fast-paced sector where multi-entity and international experience are crucial for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Analysis & Reporting: Perform technical accounting functions, including P&L analysis, management reporting, and variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget) to ensure accuracy across all cost centers.
• Full-Cycle Accounting: Lead month-end activities, including journal entries, complex account reconciliations, accruals, and the preparation of supporting schedules.
• Operational Partnership: Act as a financial advisor to Department Managers, providing G&A cost center analysis and helping them understand their financial performance.
• Specialized Accounting: Manage debt, interest, property tax returns, and business license filings.
• A/R & Treasury Support: Oversee customer statements, payment applications, wire transfer entries, and the processing of commission payments.
• Audit & Compliance: Support external audit requests and ensure all activities remain in strict accordance with GAAP.
• Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance internal controls, and assist with system implementations.

Strategic Insight

• Analyze Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), margins, and overall profitability.
• Track and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive business decisions.
• Manage financial data for multi-unit operations, ensuring consistency across all locations.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience as a Senior Accountant or Financial Analyst.
• Technical Skills: * NetSuite proficiency is highly preferred.
  
  
  • Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, Pivot Tables, V and X lookups etc.).
• Regulatory Knowledge: 5+ years of deep working knowledge of GAAP.
• Communication: Strong ability to collaborate across departments and translate data into actionable insights for leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• G&A (General & Administrative) cost center analysis, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting to Department Managers.
• Month-end activities, journal entries, GL & account reconciliation, and accruals.
• Account analysis to review monthly variances between actual and budgeted expenses and to ensure expenses are posted to correct accounts.
• Preparation of supporting schedules and data analysis.
• Responsible for debt, interest, & other accounts assigned.

• Experience in entertainment, restaurant and inventory is a plus.
• Support the external audit.
• A/R - Issue customer statements, apply payments and issue refunds.
• Process property tax returns.
• File business licenses as necessary.
• Enter completed wire transfers in accounting system.
• Process commission payments.
• Identify and implement improvements to streamline work and enhance controls.
• Analyze costs, cost of goods sold, etc.
• Analyze margin and profitability along with key performance indicators.
• Manage Multi-Unit
• Strong ability to analyze data and ability to work with other departments within the company to ensure correct reporting.
• Experience with implementation a big plus.
