Responsibilities:
- Read Blueprints & WPS: Interpret complex structural blueprints and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Weld Steel: Perform high-quality welding on heavy structural steel using SMAW (Arc/Stick), FCAW, and sometimes GMAW in all positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).
- Fit-Up: Accurately measure, cut, bevel, clean, and fit-up steel components, ensuring precise alignment.
- Quality & Code: Visually inspect welds and ensure absolute compliance with AWS D1.1 structural codes and project specifications.
- Safety: Rigorously adhere to all site and OSHA safety standards; maintain current OSHA certifications.
- Equipment: Set up, calibrate, and maintain welding and cutting equipment (torches, grinders).
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Structural Welder (3+ years preferred).
- Current or immediately certifiable to AWS D1.1 for structural steel.
- Proficiency in all welding positions (2G, 3G, 4G).
- Expert knowledge of metallurgy and pre/post-weld processes.
- Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities
- Interpret Prints: Precisely read blueprints and welding symbols to understand specifications and dimensions for structural connections.
- Prepare Materials: Clean, bevel, and cut steel components (beams, columns) using grinders or torches before welding.
- Fit-Up: Position and align structural members, using tack welds to temporarily secure them for the final weld.
- Perform Welding: Execute high-integrity welds in all positions (flat, vertical, overhead) on structural steel. Use Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) (Arc/Stick) as well as Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG).
- Quality Control: Inspect all completed welds for visual defects and ensure compliance with AWS D1.1 structural codes.
- Equipment Care: Set up, calibrate, and maintain welding machines and auxiliary tools.
- Safety: Strictly follow all job site and OSHA safety protocols, especially when working at heights or in challenging environments, always wearing required PPE.
- Rework: Repair or modify existing welds and structural steel when necessary.
