Randstad is excited to be partnering on a Controller search with a well-established small business in the York, PA area.  Our client, a local manufacturer, is seeking to hire an experienced corporate Controller who can be a leader within the organization.  This position is open due to the long-time incumbent retiring - they will provide training. This position will report directly to the President of the company and oversee all day-to-day accounting functions. In addition, this role supervises a small accounting team. salary: $85,000 - $105,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Monitor all bank accounts daily and investigate unusual activity
• Control and approve all cash disbursements (checks, ACH, wires)
• Oversee Positive Pay and fraud-prevention controls
• Own the general ledger and monthly close process
• Oversee AP, payroll, AR, bookkeeping, and corporate office staff
• Prepare, review, and/or approve journal entries and reconciliations
• Ensure invoices, payments, and entries are accurate and timely
• Oversee AP processing, batching, and approvals
• Oversee invoicing accuracy and timeliness
• Establish and enforce weekly A/R aging reviews
• Escalate delinquent accounts appropriately
• Provide clear cash-flow visibility to ownership
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements
• Coordinate with external CPAs, auditors, and tax advisors
• Oversee sales tax filings, payroll tax filings, and compliance reporting
• Support audits, government inquiries, and special filings
