Are you an experienced and skilled electrical technician who enjoys working in the field and training others? We're looking for a Lead Field Service Technician to join our team. In this pivotal role, you'll be the face of our company, ensuring our Hybrid Power Shelters and other equipment are installed, maintained, and performing optimally for our customers. You'll be a key mentor, training new technicians and providing expert support both on-site and remotely.



Key Responsibilities
  • Install & Maintain Equipment: Travel to customer sites, often in remote locations, to install, repair, and maintain HCI Energy's equipment, including Hybrid Power Shelters and ZPMs.

  • Troubleshoot & Diagnose: Use your electrical and mechanical expertise to diagnose and fix equipment issues. You'll also utilize our software platform to monitor performance remotely and provide timely support.

  • Provide Expert Training: Train customer personnel on the operation of our equipment, ensuring they have a comprehensive understanding. You'll also mentor and train new Field Service Technicians, sharing your knowledge and skills.

  • Generator Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on generators, including oil changes and filter replacements. You'll also conduct load bank testing to ensure peak performance.

  • Ensure Safety: Adhere strictly to all safety and environmental protocols. You'll have the authority to halt work if you identify any unsafe conditions, prioritizing safety above all else.



Qualifications & Skills Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience servicing electrical power equipment in the commercial or utility energy field, or equivalent formal electrical training.

  • Proficiency in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.

  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including extreme cold or heat.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • A valid driver?s license and the ability to obtain a passport.

  • Willingness to travel 1-3 weeks out of each month.



Preferred Experience & Education
  • Technical degree or certification.

  • 5+ years of experience servicing electrical power equipment.

  • Background in the telecom, public safety, renewables, or environmental sectors.



salary: $74,880 - $83,200 per year

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain Energy equipment, such as Hybrid Power Shelters and ZPMs, at customer sites, often in remote locations.
  • Utilize the software platform to remotely monitor customer site performance and provide timely support to resolve system issues.
  • Provide on-site and remote training sessions to client personnel on HCI equipment operation, ensuring comprehensive understanding and effective knowledge transfer.
  • Provide training to new Field Service Technicians.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on generators, including oil changes, filter replacements, and coolant checks.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot generator issues using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals.
  • Repair or replace defective components to restore generator functionality.
  • Conduct load bank testing and other performance assessments to ensure generators meet specified requirements.
  • Install new generators and related equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts inventory and service logs.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working on generators and related equipment.
