Growing manufacturer in the Sarasota is seeking a Director of Engineering to supervise a team of 10. The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar, and at least 5 years of management experience leading new product development in manufacturing. This is a dynamic team focusing on new product innovation and project management. Excellent benefits and work/life balance. Will assist with relocation for the right candidate. responsibilities:
  • Designs and directs the work of the engineering team.

  • Provides guidance of the product development life cycle which includes interaction from the various business segments throughout design, manufacturability, and serviceability providing our customers the very best in innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction.

  • Selects, coaches, and develops the team, setting objectives that align with company strategy to inspire and motivate the team.

  • Drives and manages organizational talent through performance management.

  • Directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered, and performance is systematically improved.

  • Executes product development plans (schedule, product cost, resources to complete project, quality targets, product specification adherence development and prove out of product validation test plans.
Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related degree;

  • 8+ years of engineering experience, preferably in a medical or industrial products environment

  • at least 5 years of management experience leading new product development
