You will identify damage mechanisms like FAC and thermal fatigue while overseeing NDE mapping and repair strategies. responsibilities:
  • Execute internal and external inspections of HRSG components, including high pressure drums, superheaters, and evaporator tube bundles.

  • Identify and document specialized damage mechanisms such as flow accelerated corrosion (FAC), thermal fatigue, and creep in high temperature headers.

  • Utilize advanced borescope and videoscope technology to inspect tube internal surfaces and hard to reach header connections.

  • Evaluate the integrity of casing liners, expansion joints, and ductwork to prevent gas leaks and maintain thermal efficiency.

  • Analyze gas turbine operational data to assess the impact of frequent startup cycles on the remaining life of pressure parts.

  • Develop comprehensive repair procedures and life extension recommendations based on root cause analysis of component failures.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Checmical Engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution PREFERRED.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the power generation industry, with a specific focus on combined cycle power plant equipment.

  • Visual Testing (VT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) are highly preferred for field inspection roles.

  • Thorough understanding of ASME Section I and Section VIII codes, as well as NBIC requirements for pressure part repairs.

  • Experience with P91 and other creep strength enhanced ferritic (CSEF) steels, including specific welding and post weld heat treatment requirements.

  • Proficiency in technical report writing and the ability to present complex engineering findings to plant management and stakeholders.

  • Physical capability to perform inspections in confined spaces and a willingness to travel extensively during peak maintenance outage seasons.
