Our client is seeking a Utility Boiler Inspector/Engineer for their Marlborough, MA office. You will lead inspections, perform root cause analysis on pressure parts, and ensure ASME code compliance for high-pressure systems. Candidates will preferably have a BSME and 3 years of power industry experience. While this role supports our Marlborough hub, we offer partial remote flexibility for senior-level experts. responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive internal and external inspections of various boiler types (e.g., utility, industrial, waste-to-energy, recovery, and HRSG units) in accordance with industry codes and protocols.
Identify, analyze, and document defects, damage, and wear mechanisms such as pressure part failures, corrosion, overheating, and weld integrity issues.
Apply knowledge of combustion system diagnostics to identify issues that affect boiler performance, efficiency, and emissions.
Prepare detailed, codified inspection reports with clear findings, root cause analysis, and actionable recommendations.
Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and repair teams to develop and oversee effective repair and life extension strategies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution PREFERRED.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the design, operation, or maintenance of high-pressure steam generation systems.
Mastery Power Piping codes, along with an understanding of metallurgy and welding processes.
Working knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methodologies, including ultrasonic and radiographic testing for tube thickness and weld integrity.
Ability to work in industrial environments (climbing scaffolding, entering confined spaces) and a willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Required to travel at least 60% of the time
