Seeking a Milling Technician on 2nd shift for a high growth manufacturing company in the Woburn, MA area.

The Milling Tech would be responsible for being part of a cohesive team manufacturing high-quality products by mixing heat treat powders in an oven, weighing up materials, and then mixing and milling materials to assist other departments to make completed, finished product.

responsibilities:
  • Read work orders, batch cards, and blueprints to set up, operate, and maintain ovens and mixers.

  • Process materials such as copper, aluminum, or glass powders.

  • Verify and prepare raw materials, tools, and equipment for mixing chemicals according to product specifications.

  • Set up and operate mixing machines to produce and inspect finished sheet or brick materials.

  • Perform machine maintenance, cleaning, and complex troubleshooting.

  • Sift, package, and label powders for other departments.

  • Complete daily documentation and reports accurately and on time.

  • Communicate with other departments and notify leaders and engineers of issues as needed.

  • Work cross-functionally in various areas, including compounds, milling, and non-chemical value streams.

  • Support LEAN and High-Performance team initiatives, including training and assisting with team improvement boards.

  • Sustain company Safety and 5S programs by using appropriate PPE in various environments such as clean rooms and during hazardous chemical mixing or milling operations.
