Responsibilities

Set up and operate conventional manual mills (e.g., Bridgeport-style) and manual lathes (e.g., engine lathes) to perform operations such as turning, milling, drilling, boring, threading, and facing.

Read and accurately interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and operational sequences.

Select, measure, and load appropriate cutting tools.

Calculate and set machine controls to regulate factors such as cutting speed, feed rate, depth of cut, and coolant flow.

Perform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and bore gauges to ensure parts meet strict quality standards and tolerances.

Monitor machine operation and adjust settings as needed to maintain high-quality production.

Perform routine maintenance on machines and keep the work area clean and organized.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the machining process.

Work safely and follow all company safety procedures.
