A leading defense and aerospace manufacturer in Long Island, NY is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Mechanical Assembler to join its production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical and electronic components and subassemblies used in high-reliability systems for mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and follow engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • Perform precision soldering (including SMT and through-hole components) to IPC standards.
  • Assemble cables, harnesses, circuit boards, and electrical panels.
  • Conduct inspections and functional tests on completed assemblies.
  • Identify and report defective components or equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain production logs and ensure compliance with quality assurance standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to support continuous improvement.
Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical assembly, preferably in aerospace or defense manufacturing.
  • IPC-610/620 or J-STD-001 certification is a plus
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under minimal supervision.
 

salary: $41,600 - $46,000 per year
