Employment Information
We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our production team in Western Suffolk County, NY. This role focuses on precision manual machining to fabricate, modify, and repair components for a variety of industrial applications. The ideal candidate will be skilled in operating traditional machining equipment and capable of working to tight tolerances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and drill presses.
  • Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
  • Measure, mark, and machine materials to precise specifications using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools.
  • Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for each job.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Work closely with engineers and production staff to refine parts and improve processes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a manual machinist in a manufacturing or job shop environment.
  • Proficiency with manual lathes, mills, grinders, and other traditional machining tools.
  • Solid blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
  • Knowledge of metals, plastics, and other common machining materials.
  • Ability to hold tight tolerances and perform high-precision work.


salary: $72,800 - $93,600 per year
